Best E-ink tablet for taking notes and PDF markup?
I’m a grad student and I’m drowning in research papers. I need a device where I can read PDFs, highlight text, and scribble notes in the margins without having to print everything out. I’ve looked at the Kindle, but it seems a bit too limited for actual productivity. Are there more "open" systems available that allow for better file management?

For academic work, you definitely need something more powerful than a basic e-reader. You should look for devices that run on Android so you can sync with Google Drive or Dropbox. I found a great selection at https://einktab.ca/ that fits this description perfectly. They carry tablets that come with a stylus and have very low latency, so writing feels almost like pen on paper. Having all your annotated PDFs in one searchable device is a lifesaver during exam season, and it’s much lighter to carry around than a stack of binders.
